SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

20 ILCS 415/12g new

Amends the Personnel Code. Provides that all positions subject to the provisions of the Code, including but not limited to emergency appointments, temporary appointments, and provisional appointments, and under the jurisdiction of the Director of the Department of Corrections, shall be filled exclusively by persons who have undergone a competitive examination.

AN ACT concerning State government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Personnel Code is amended by adding Section 12g as follows:

(20 ILCS 415/12g new)

Sec. 12g. Department of Corrections; competitive examinations. Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, all positions subject to the provisions of this Act, including but not limited to emergency appointments, temporary appointments, and provisional appointments, and under the jurisdiction of the Director of the Department of Corrections, shall be filled exclusively by persons who have undergone a competitive examination in accordance with Section 8b.1 of this Act.
