    Amends the Probate Act of 1975. Makes a technical change to a Section concerning public administrators.

1    AN ACT concerning civil law.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Probate Act of 1975 is amended by changing
5Section 13-3 as follows:
 
6    (755 ILCS 5/13-3)  (from Ch. 110 1/2, par. 13-3)
7    Sec. 13-3. Compensation of public administrator.
8    (a) In counties having a population in excess of 1,000,000
9the the public administrator shall pay all the fees collected
10by the office into the county treasury. Each year, the county
11board shall appropriate an amount to be paid to the public
12administrator as compensation for the public administrator's
13performance of his or her duties and such compensation shall be
14paid at a minimum level of $20,000 annually. That amount shall
15be paid from the fees collected by the office of the public
16administrator. The county board in such counties shall fix the
17amount for the public administrator's compensation and
18necessary clerk hire, assistants, and office expense in the
19annual county budget and appropriation ordinances, which shall
20be paid from the county treasury. In such counties all fees of
21the office of public administrator are subject to audit the
22same as are fees of other county officers.
23    (b) In counties having a population of 1,000,000 or less

1the public administrator may receive all the fees of his office
2and shall bear the expenses connected with the operation of
3such office.
