SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

210 ILCS 85/6.14g new

Amends the Hospital Licensing Act. Provides that a hospital shall report to the local law enforcement agency all incidents of theft of personal property that occur in the hospital. Provides that the report shall be made no later than 24 hours after discovery of the theft and in a form and manner as prescribed by the local law enforcement agency.

AN ACT concerning health facilities.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Hospital Licensing Act is amended by adding Section 6.14g as follows:

(210 ILCS 85/6.14g new)

Sec. 6.14g. Reporting theft; local law enforcement agency. A hospital shall report to the local law enforcement agency all incidents of theft of personal property that occur in the hospital. The report shall be made no later than 24 hours after discovery of the theft and in a form and manner as prescribed by the local law enforcement agency.
