1     AN ACT concerning veterans.

2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:

4     Section 3. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by
5 adding Section 165 as follows:

6     (5 ILCS 490/165 new)
7     Sec. 165. Purple Heart Day. The 7th day of August of each
8 year is designated Purple Heart Day to be observed as a day to
9 honor and remember those who have been wounded or killed in
10 battle.

12     Section 5. The National Guard Veterans Exposure to
13 Hazardous Materials Act is amended by repealing Section 20.
