SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

5 ILCS 70/1.37 new

Amends the Statute on Statutes. Provides that, when used to describe a year, the term "B.C." means before Christ, and the term "A.D." means Anno Domini.

AN ACT concerning government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Statute on Statutes is amended by adding Section 1.37 as follows:

(5 ILCS 70/1.37 new)

Sec. 1.37. References to B.C. and A.D. Whenever used to describe a year, the term "B.C." means before Christ, and the term "A.D." means Anno Domini.
