HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the Mt. Hope Missionary Baptist Church on the occasion of its 74th anniversary; and

WHEREAS, The Mt. Hope Missionary Baptist Church is led by Pastor Alvis L. Martin, Senior Pastor George W. Hill, Assistant Pastor Dr. James L. Porter, and Associate Minister Lindsey Walton; the church's motto is "Faith Moves Mountains"; and

WHEREAS, Pastor Martin and the Mt. Hope Missionary Baptist Church Anniversary Committee will celebrate the church's anniversary at Spiritual Awakening Church in Chicago on April 28, 2019, a date that will go into the church's history to commemorate its fellowship; the theme for that day is "We are Rising Like the Phoenix From the Ashes"; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Mt. Hope Missionary Baptist Church on the occasion of its 74th anniversary and wish them many more years of faith and fellowship; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Mt. Hope Missionary Baptist Church as an expression of our esteem and respect.
