SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Richard J. Cremeens of Joliet, who passed
4away on August 25, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Richard Cremeens was born to Clarence "Bus" and
6Helen Cremeens on February 23, 1955; he graduated from Joliet
7Catholic High School in 1973 and received his bachelor's degree
8in psychology from Lewis University in Romeoville in 1977,
9where he attended on a wrestling scholarship and was a member
10of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity; he earned a master's
11degree in education and guidance/counseling from Eastern
12Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky in 1986; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Richard Cremeens was a licensed mental health
14counselor at the Will County Mental Health Department; he
15focused on vulnerable children and adolescents; he would often
16work all day and be out on call in the evening in emergency
17departments across Will County; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Richard Cremeens was an avid fan of the Chicago
19Bears and Cubs and relished seeing the Cubs win the 2016 World
20Series; he was also a horse racing fan and enjoyed visiting
21with family at Kentucky Derby parties; his passion was his
22family, and he would say that his greatest accomplishment and

1greatest joy was being a father; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Richard Cremeens was preceded in death by his
3parents; his brothers, Tim and Tom Cremeens; and many other
4friends and family; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Richard Cremeens is survived by his son,
6Christopher Cremeens; his stepdaughter, Danielle (Shaun)
7Kennedy; his brothers, Michael (Ann) Cremeens and James (Judy)
8Cremeens; his sisters, MaryAnn (Marty) Mudron and Maureen
9(Thomas) Cercone; his twin sister, Katherine; 17 nieces and
10nephews; and 38 great-nieces and great-nephews; therefore, be
11it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Richard J. Cremeens, and extend our sincere condolences to his
15family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Richard Cremeens as an expression of
19our deepest sympathy.
