SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Viola Augusta Zimmerman of Huntley, who
4passed away on February 8, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Viola Zimmerman was born on November 9, 1918 in
6Union; her parents were Ernest and Minnie (nee Giertz) Kolberg;
7she married Norm Zimmerman on April 13, 1940 in Woodstock and
8they lived in Huntley since 1945; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Viola Zimmerman was the co-owner and bookkeeper of
10D & Z Transfer of Huntley for 60 years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Viola Zimmerman was a member of Trinity Lutheran
12Church in Huntley; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Viola Zimmerman enjoyed watching the Chicago
14Cubs, Bears and Bulls, golfing, bowling, pinochle, bingo,
15painting, and ceramics; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Viola Zimmerman was preceded in death by her
17parents; her husband of 66 years, Norm; 2 brothers, Ervin and
18Melvin Kolberg; and 5 sisters, Elma Buchte, Grace Schauer,
19Florence Bauman, Mildred Diedrick, and Irene Wirsing; and

1    WHEREAS, Viola Zimmerman is survived by 5 children, Gerald
2(Marilyn), Richard (Sheila), Sandra (Robert) Zanzig, Randy
3(Lynn), and Pamela (Gary) Gallaugher; 15 grandchildren; 24
4great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren; and a
5sister, Ruth Kahl; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
8family and friends, mourn the passing of Viola Augusta
9Zimmerman; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Viola Zimmerman as an expression of
12our sympathy.
