SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Diane L. Schwind of Richmond, who passed away on January 16, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Diane Schwind born in Arlington Heights on August 29, 1934 to Louis and Louise (nee Peters) Maierhofer; she married Leon F. Schwind on June 6, 1953 in Buffalo Grove; and

WHEREAS, Diane Schwind and her husband were vegetable farmers and operated Schwind's Vegetable Stand for many years; and

WHEREAS, Diane Schwind enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, Tuesday nights at the Bake House in Hebron listening to the accordion players, and bingo at the Richmond Firehouse; she looked forward to her daily visits to the Depot Restaurant in Richmond for fellowship and she was involved with the Women of the Moose and the Golden Agers Club in Harvard; and

WHEREAS, Diane Schwind was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leon; her grandson, Ryan Glen Schwind; her sister, Dorothy Housewerth; and her brother, Louis Maierhofer; and

WHEREAS, Diane Schwind is survived by her 3 sons, Leon (Karen) Schwind, Glen (Darlene) Schwind, and Dennis Schwind; her 6 grandchildren, Amy, Eric (Tabetha), Renae, Matthew (Kathryn), Sarah, and Daniel; and her 2 great-grandsons, Colton and Corbin; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Diane L. Schwind, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Diane Schwind as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
