SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Helen E. Horn, who passed away on October 4, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Helen Horn was born on September 5, 1922, in Alton; she was the daughter of George and Anna (Masel) Handler; she married David R. Horn on September 7, 1941, in Palmyra, Missouri; and

WHEREAS, Helen Horn served as a designer for Lammer's Floral for many years; she was also a member of College Avenue Presbyterian Church and a volunteer at Alton Memorial Hospital; and

WHEREAS, Helen Horn was preceded in death by her husband; her brothers, Sam and Carl Handler; and her sisters, Katherine Webb and Elinor Norman; and

WHEREAS, Helen Horn is survived by her sons, David M. Horn and his wife, Debbie, Richard F. Horn and his wife, Becky, and John E. Horn and his fiancee, Autumn; her grandchildren, Mary, James, Mark, and Kevin Horn, Christine Salmon, and Kim Horn; and her 10 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Helen E. Horn; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Helen Horn as an expression of our sympathy.
