SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Edward L. Mahoney of Vernon Hills, who passed away on August 29, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Edward Mahoney was born on November 24, 1933, in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Edward Mahoney served his country with pride as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division until he was discharged at the rank of Staff Sergeant; and

WHEREAS, Edward Mahoney was the founder of Ultra Printing, where he continued to enjoy working until his passing; and

WHEREAS, Edward Mahoney was a member of the Lions Club Vernon Hills Chapter and was one of the founding parishioners of St. Mary of Vernon in Vernon Hills; he also served as a Eucharistic Minister and was involved in marriage preparation with his wife; and

WHEREAS, Edward Mahoney was preceded in death by his brother, James; his sister-in-law, Patricia; and his sister, Madeline; and

WHEREAS, Edward Mahoney is survived by his beloved wife, Pauline Suzanne "Sue"; his sons, Michael (Jamie), Edward (Sue), and Dominick (Susan); his proud grandchildren, Corey, Nicholas, Ryan, Zachary, Melissa, and Kyra; his sisters, Kathleen and Mary Lou; his brother, Martin; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Edward L. Mahoney; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Edward Mahoney as an expression of our sympathy.
