SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Donald W. Miller of North Aurora, who passed away on September 5, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Donald Miller was born December 1, 1936, in Kellogg, Minnesota, the son of Fred and Rosalia (Miller) Miller; he was united in marriage to Patricia M. (Knur) Miller on May 14, 1963, at St. Mary Church in Aurora; he served three years in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Japan; and

WHEREAS, He was employed for 42 years with the Burlington Northern Railroad, and another 10 years with the Kane County Cougars; he was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Church in North Aurora; he was a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus, sang in the choir, and was active in the "Right to Life" Ministry, as well as the Aurora Interfaith Food Pantry; he kept busy with gardening, fishing, and sports of all kinds; his big thrills were trips to Minnesota and family reunions; and

WHEREAS, Donald Miller was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Fred Jr., Kenneth, and Frances; his grandson, Alexander; his daughter-in-law, Catherine (Flores) Miller; and his brother-in-law, John "Sonny" Wolf; and

WHEREAS, Donald Miller is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia; his sons, Andrew Miller, Lawrence (Dawn) Miller, and Edward Miller; his grandchildren, Charisma L. Duncan, Rachel A. Lucena, Edwin J. Duncan, Angelic N. Hill, Brandon S. Pounds, Joseph M. Miller, Alexandrea J. Miller, Elizabeth M. Miller, Zachary J. Miller, and Alysa R. Miller; his great-grandchildren; his sisters, Ruth (Gerald) Klein and Mary Wolf; his brothers, James (Susan) Miller, Paul (Julie) Miller, Leo (Marcene) Miller, Gerald "Jerry" (Marilyn) Miller, and Mark (Gayle) Miller; his sisters-in-law, Marion Miller and Sandra Miller; and his numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Donald Miller; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Donald Miller as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
