SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Martha A. Burlison of Benton, who passed away on August 18, 2010; and

WHEREAS, She was born in Benton on July 7, 1917, the daughter of Frank and Josephine (Jedlicka) Krajnik; and

WHEREAS, She was a member of the Benton American Legion and the VFW auxiliaries; and

WHEREAS, She was very active in the Democratic Party for several years and would drive people to the polls so as not to lose the Democratic votes; she was known to never miss an election; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her sister, Mary Krajnik; and

WHEREAS, She is survived by her sons, Ronald Burlison and his wife, Patti, and Dr. John Burlison and his wife, Christy; her grandsons, Dr. Jared Burlison and Raymond "Ramie" Burlison and his wife, Vanessa; her great grandson, Raymond "Ramie" Burlison Jr.; and her brother, Frank Krajnik; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Martha Burlison; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Martha Burlison as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
