SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Blanche I. (Hill) Buss of Springfield, who passed away on August 10, 2010; and

WHEREAS, She was born on June 22, 1926, the daughter of Floyd and Daisy (Duncan) Wilkens in Grayson County, Kentucky; and

WHEREAS, She married Earnest Hill in February of 1945; he preceded her in death in 1988; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Buss was an active member of the Assembly of God Church in Mason City, Hairdressers Affiliation of Lincoln, and The Kitchen Band of Sangamon Towers; she was a cosmetic dealer for Vivian Woodard, and owned and operated Blanche's Beauty Salon in Greenview; and

WHEREAS, In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her two sisters and one brother; and

WHEREAS, Blanche Buss is survived by her sons, Jim (Nancy) Hill and Rodger (Pauly) Hill; her five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Blanche Buss; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Blanche Buss as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
