SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Linda L. Gerloff of Lake Villa, who passed away on January 5, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Linda Gerloff was an inspiration to children and dedicated the past 20 years to educating children with special needs in the Special Education District of Lake County; and

WHEREAS, Linda Gerloff enjoyed spending time with her family, doing art projects, and baking; and

WHEREAS, Linda Gerloff was preceded in death by her father, James Walsh; and her dear friend, Elizabeth "Cookie" Wolyn; and

WHEREAS, Linda Gerloff was the loving mother of Theodoor (Cassandra) van Empel, James (Sarah) Gerloff, and Jennifer Gerloff; the cherished daughter of Viola Walsh (Leonard) Mattson; the beloved sister of Daniel Walsh, Michael Walsh, and Kathy (Glenn) Barham; the fond sister-in-law of LuAnn Walsh and Arlene Oien; the devoted Grandma of Cayla, Christopher, Jacqueline, Alex, and Amber; the caring aunt of Joshua, Brittany, Megan, Emily, Bobby, and Casey; and the loving owner of her faithful canine companions, Holly, Libby, Jade, Harley, and Noah; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Linda L. Gerloff; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Linda Gerloff as an expression of our sympathy.
