SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate were saddened
3 to learn of the death of John J. "Jack" Kent, who passed away
4 on August 4, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, The last twenty years of his life he served as the
6 Facilities Manager at St. Margaret Mary Parish, where he kept
7 the Activity Center properly scheduled, heated, cooled, clean,
8 and inviting to all those people who came together to eat, to
9 pray, to mourn, to celebrate, and to relax, all those things
10 necessary to build a vibrant community; and
 
11     WHEREAS,For twenty-five years the cast of "Snack Theater"
12 was indebted to him for his patience in solving all the
13 technical problems involved in putting on a musical production;
14 and
 
15     WHEREAS, Jack played tight end at Iowa State University,
16 and was invited to try out for the Dallas Cowboys; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Jack loved life, was truly Mother Nature's son, a
18 country boy at heart, and a real cowboy in South Dakota; and
 
19     WHEREAS, Jack had a deep and abiding love for his family,
20 and especially his wife, Julie; and

1     WHEREAS, Jack is survived by his wife of 46 years, Julie,
2 nee Keuth; he was the loving father of Janmarie Kent, Julianne
3 (Randy) Weiss, Joseph (Jackie) Kent, and Jessica (Francis)
4 Corrigan; he was the adored "Papa" of Erin Mackin, Melissa and
5 Danielle Weiss, Jillian, Jacey, and Jackson Kent, and Francis
6 and Patrick Corrigan; he was the fond brother of Mike (Maxine)
7 Kent, Barbara (Bob) Dewell, and the late Gary (Linda) Kent; and
8 he was the devoted son-in-law of Jeanne Keuth; therefore, be it
 
9     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
10 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11 his family and friends, the passing of John J. "Jack" Kent; and
12 be it further
 
13     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14 presented to the family of John J. "Jack" Kent as a symbol of
15 our sincere sympathy.
