SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Douglas R. Koss of Waukegan, who passed
4 away on January 18, 2010; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Douglas R. Koss was born October 7, 1935 in
6 Waukegan and remained a lifelong resident; he was an active
7 member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church; he attended the
8 University of Illinois Chicago and served in the United States
9 Air Force; and
 
10     WHEREAS, He and his brother Bob Koss owned and operated Bob &
11 Doug's Amoco Service Station on the corner of Sunset and
12 Lewis in Waukegan for 43 years, along with Bob & Doug's Auto
13 Service on Sunset and Northern in Waukegan for the last ten
14 years of their business; and
 
15     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph
16 and Grace Koss; and his brother, Robert Koss, whom he loved
17 very much; and
 
18     WHEREAS, Douglas Koss is survived by his loving wife, Beth;
19 his two daughters, Amy (Christopher) Venckus and Sally (Mark)
20 Stailey; his son, David Koss; his sisters, Margaret Lyons and
21 Florence (Robert) Kristensen; his sister-in-law, Pamela Koss;

1 his many devoted nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his four
2 wonderful grandchildren, Danni, Maddie, Ryan, and Anna;
3 therefore, be it
 
4     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
5 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
6 his family and friends, the passing of Douglas Koss; and be it
7 further
 
8     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to the family of Douglas Koss as a symbol of our
10 sincere sympathy.
