SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Aida M. Guss (nee, Capozzoli) of
4 Palatine, who passed away on February 18, 2010; and
 
5     WHEREAS, She was born December 19, 1936, in Des Plaines;
6 she was a devout Catholic and went to daily Mass at St. Theresa
7 Catholic Church; and
 
8     WHEREAS, She was a seamstress for the Little Sisters of the
9 Poor for over 40 years at St. Joseph Home for the Elderly; she
10 was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother; her family was
11 everything to her; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Her husband was the former Palatine Village
13 President; the couple owned the Village Cobbler Shoe Store in
14 Palatine, and a second location in Barrington; and
 
15     WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert
16 J. Guss Jr.; her parents, Louis and Amelia (nee Mazzuca)
17 Capozzoli; and her brothers Joseph (the late Margaret) and
18 Louis Capozzoli; and
 
19     WHEREAS, Aida Guss is survived by her children, Robert J.
20 III (Amber) Guss, Daniel M. (Karen) Guss, David L. (Cheryl)

1 Guss, Carolyn A. (Gordon) Padera, John F. (Tamiko) Guss, Gina
2 M. (William) Whitlock, Jody L. (William) DeAcetis, and Gemma T.
3 Guss; her 25 grandchildren; her two great-grandchildren; and
4 her sister-in-law, Julie Capozzoli; therefore, be it
 
5     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
6 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
7 her family and friends, the passing of Aida Guss; and be it
8 further
 
9     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10 presented to the family of Aida Guss as a symbol of our sincere
11 sympathy.
