SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of William W. Haig; and

WHEREAS, William Haig served his country with pride and distinction as a member of the United States Army; and

WHEREAS, William Haig attended DePaul Academy and DePaul University; he enjoyed participating in the DePaul men's basketball golf outing each year; and

WHEREAS, William Haig was employed with the Chicago Public School system as a teacher at Lakeview High School for 30 years; he also served as a baseball and football coach during his teaching years; and

WHEREAS, William Haig was the beloved husband of Josette for 48 years; the loving father of Christopher (Janet) and Anthony (Riikka); the devoted grandfather of Dylan and Ryan; the brother-in-law of Connie (Frank) Spenko; and the loving uncle of Matthew (Elizabeth); therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of William W. Haig; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of William Haig as an expression of our sympathy.
