SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Brad Horton of Edwards, who passed away on January 29, 2010; and

WHEREAS, He was born October 3, 1950, in Dixon to William "Bill" and Bernice E. Deets Horton; he married Nancy Kay Gustine in Peoria on May 7, 1994; and

WHEREAS, He was the Peoria County Recorder of Deeds; he was the president of the 2nd Ward Republican Club; past president of all of the following: Kiwanis, Peoria Township Officials, Peoria County Assessor Association, and the Illinois Assessor Association; and he was an instructor for the Illinois Property Assessment Institute; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents; and

WHEREAS, Brad Horton is survived by his wife, Nancy; his mother; his daughter, Alicia (Derek) Lash; his two grandsons, Cayden Lash and Brady Johnson; his brother, Brian (Kim) Horton; and his nieces and nephew, Jennifer (Kevin) Lawson, Rebecca Horton, Taneea Gustine, Zane Puckett, and Chelsea Barr; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Brad Horton; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Brad Horton as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
