SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jesse M. Veach of Peoria, who passed away on December 3, 2009; and

WHEREAS, He was born July 8, 1932, in Charleston, the son of Charles and Beulah Millage Veach; he married Barbara Kunkel on March 17, 1981, in Princeville; and

WHEREAS, He worked for Caterpillar Inc. for 27 years, retiring as an overhead crane operator in 1991; and

WHEREAS, After his retirement from Caterpillar, he worked for the American Red Cross; he was a member of the Caterpillar Square Dance Club; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and one sister; and

WHEREAS, Jesse Veach is survived by his wife, Barbara; his daughter, Dona M. (Matthew) Graham; his stepdaughter, Lisa (Gary) Hill; his stepsons, Doug (Rhonda) Kunkel and Steven Kunkel; his brothers, Max Veach, Lowell (Mickie) Veach, and Gilbert Veach; his sisters, Mary (Pete) Higgs, Wanda Higgs, and Rachel Stonum; his grandchild; and his four step-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Jesse Veach; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jesse Veach as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
