SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Mamie Lee Hunter of Chicago, who passed
4 away on November 8, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, She was born on September 5, 1915 to Robert and
6 Elizabeth Trapp in Abbeville, South Carolina; and
 
7     WHEREAS, She met and married Elbert Hunter in 1939; she
8 devoted her life to taking care of her husband, her children,
9 and her children's friends; and
 
10     WHEREAS, She was a member of the "Second Knighters Club"
11 for seven years; she loved to cook and live life to the
12 fullest; she confessed Christ at an early age and was a member
13 of Ebenezer Baptist Church before joining Life Center Church of
14 God in Christ under the leadership of Pastor T. L. Barrett; and
 
15     WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; her
16 sister, Rosa Lee Wilson; her husband, Elbert Hunter; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Mamie Lee Hunter is survived by her daughter,
18 Delmar Hunter; her sons, Elbert (Lillie) Hunter and Euclid
19 Hunter; her grandchildren, Rommel Hunter, Akeem Hunter,
20 Patrice Hunter, Michelle Hunter, Morgan Hunter, and Kendall

1 Hunter; her great-grandchildren, Shaun Finley and Rochelle
2 Hunter; her nieces, Elaine Roberts and Gwendolyn Brooks; and a
3 host of relatives and friends; therefore, be it
 
4     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
5 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
6 her family and friends, the passing of Mamie Lee Hunter; and be
7 it further
 
8     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to the family of Mamie Lee Hunter as a symbol of our
10 sincere sympathy.
