SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Kenneth Ernest Parmly of Anna, who passed
4 away on October 25, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Kenneth Parmly was born on April 16, 1916, in
6 Napa, Idaho; he was the son of Ernest L. and Tempa Jane Parmly;
7 he married Fannie Lutrell Shelton on October 26, 1946, in
8 Oceola, Arkansas; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Kenneth Parmly served his country with pride and
10 distinction as a member of the United States Navy during World
11 War II; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Kenneth Parmly was the former Mayor of Alto Pass
13 and a member of the Alto Pass Fire Department; he was a retired
14 fireman at the former Anna State Hospital and was the owner and
15 operator of Ken's Hardware and Lumber Company in Alto Pass for
16 many years; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Kenneth Parmly was a member of the First Baptist
18 Church of Alto Pass and the American Legion Post 259 in Cobden;
19 and
 
20     WHEREAS, Kenneth Parmly was preceded in death by his

1 parents; his sisters, Vada Parmly, Ruth Goldsmith, and Lucille
2 Bartsch; his brother, Delbert Parmly; his grandson, Jonathan
3 Luke Parmly; and his great-grandson, Connor Michael Gilbert;
4 and
 
5     WHEREAS, Kenneth Parmly is survived by his wife, Fannie
6 Parmly; his children, Ronald (Brenda) Parmly and Kendra (Gary)
7 Bartolotti; his grandchildren, Lori and Lane Parmly, Kim
8 Gilbert, Leslie Hacker, Mindy Van Fossan, and Michael
9 Bartolotti; his great-grandchildren, Brittni Pratis, Baleigh
10 Parmly, Jimmy, Jacob, Lee, and Jonathan Parmly, Alexis, Tyler,
11 and Alyssa Hacker, Bobbi Jo and Kaili Gilbert, Kody, Garrett,
12 and Paige Van Fossan, Jessica Hall, and Preston Bartolotti; his
13 great-great-grandchild, Jailynn Pratis; and his many other
14 relatives and friends; therefore, be it
 
15     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
16 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
17 his family and friends, the passing of Kenneth Ernest Parmly;
18 and be it further
 
19     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20 presented to the family of Kenneth Parmly as an expression of
21 our sympathy.
