SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Kenneth Ernest Parmly of Anna, who passed away on October 25, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Parmly was born on April 16, 1916, in Napa, Idaho; he was the son of Ernest L. and Tempa Jane Parmly; he married Fannie Lutrell Shelton on October 26, 1946, in Oceola, Arkansas; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Parmly served his country with pride and distinction as a member of the United States Navy during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Parmly was the former Mayor of Alto Pass and a member of the Alto Pass Fire Department; he was a retired fireman at the former Anna State Hospital and was the owner and operator of Ken's Hardware and Lumber Company in Alto Pass for many years; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Parmly was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alto Pass and the American Legion Post 259 in Cobden; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Parmly was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Vada Parmly, Ruth Goldsmith, and Lucille Bartsch; his brother, Delbert Parmly; his grandson, Jonathan Luke Parmly; and his great-grandson, Connor Michael Gilbert; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Parmly is survived by his wife, Fannie Parmly; his children, Ronald (Brenda) Parmly and Kendra (Gary) Bartolotti; his grandchildren, Lori and Lane Parmly, Kim Gilbert, Leslie Hacker, Mindy Van Fossan, and Michael Bartolotti; his great-grandchildren, Brittni Pratis, Baleigh Parmly, Jimmy, Jacob, Lee, and Jonathan Parmly, Alexis, Tyler, and Alyssa Hacker, Bobbi Jo and Kaili Gilbert, Kody, Garrett, and Paige Van Fossan, Jessica Hall, and Preston Bartolotti; his great-great-grandchild, Jailynn Pratis; and his many other relatives and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Kenneth Ernest Parmly; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Kenneth Parmly as an expression of our sympathy.
