SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Monica Elizabeth Walter of Aurora, who passed away on September 14, 2009; and

WHEREAS, She was born August 15, 1917, in Aurora and married Florian A. Walter on September 28, 1938; and

WHEREAS, She was a member of Holy Angels Parish for many years, a member of the Third Order of St. Francis, and volunteered for several years at the Holy Angels Parish Pantry and at the Public Action to Deliver Shelter (P.A.D.S.) Program at Hesed House; and

WHEREAS, Monica was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Florian A. Walter; her parents, Terrence M. and Anna (Carroll) Coyne; her three brothers, Francis, Richard, and Terrence Coyne; her sister, Ruth Anne Coyne; and a sister in infancy, Mary Lucille Coyne; and

WHEREAS, Monica Walter is survived by her children, Florian T. (Carole) Walter, Carol A. Julian, Judy Walter, Terrance R. (Patricia) Walter, Ronald J. (Judy Kay) Walter, Rita Walter Carney, Keith F. (Veronica) Walter, Paul G. (Consuelo) Walter, and Maggie (Michael) Mayer; her 27 grandchildren; her 55 great-grandchildren; her sister, Martha Tringali; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Monica Walter; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Monica Walter as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
