SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Steve Hervoy of Beach Park, who passed away on July 26, 2009; and

WHEREAS, He was born on January 25, 1933 in North Chicago, the son of the late Valentine and Barbara Hervoy; he attended Mother of God Grade School and Waukegan High School; and

WHEREAS, He was a proud veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Marine Corps; he worked at many different places, including Acme Brick, where he retired; and

WHEREAS, He was a member of the Teamsters Local #301, Gurnee American Legion Post 771, St. Joseph K.S.K.J., and the Zion-Benton Moose; and

WHEREAS, He enjoyed working on cars and raced cars at Waukegan Speedway in his early days; after his retirement he would make the rounds at the local restaurants to catch up on the news; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; his son, Steven; his brothers, Frank and Robert; and his parents; and

WHEREAS, Steve Hervoy is survived by his daughter, Cynthia (Richard) Denikas; his grandsons, Andrew Stephen Thomsen and Zackery Denikas; his brothers, William (Ruth) and Joseph; and his sister, Barbara Leary; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Steve Hervoy; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Steve Hervoy as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
