SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Peter B. "Jabo" Schwegel of Alton, who passed away on August 15, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Peter B. "Jabo" Schwegel was born December 25, 1938, in Alton, the son of Peter and Louise (Hesse) Schwegel; Peter was married to the former Margaret "Maggie" Stice on February 4, 1961, in Alton; and

WHEREAS, He owned and operated State Street Tomboy for over 20 years and had other business interests; he enjoyed trips to Chicago with his grandchildren and watching the Cardinals and Cubs baseball games; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Peter Schwegel is survived by his wife, Margaret; his daughter, Sandy Schwegel; his sons, Peter J. Schwegel and his wife, Tammy, and Mark E. Schwegel; his grandchildren, Lauren and Logan Schwegel; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara Fallon, Carolyn and Terry Dooley, and Mary and Jim Gillette; and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Bud Schwegel, Tom and Jeanie Schwegel, Jim and Sue Schwegel, John and Margaret Schwegel, and Edward "Butch" and Carla Schwegel; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Peter Schwegel; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Peter Schwegel as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
