SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Richard T. Luka of Pleasant Prairie, who passed away on June 3, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Richard Luka was born on September 3, 1927 in Chicago; he was a long time resident of Waukegan; and

WHEREAS, Richard Luka served his country with pride and distinction as a member of the United States Navy for 21 years; and

WHEREAS, Richard Luka was the owner and operator of Waukegan Rental for over 20 years; and

WHEREAS, Richard Luka was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan; he also loved being outdoors, fishing, golfing, bowling, and his cabin in Crivitz, Wisconsin; and

WHEREAS, Richard Luka was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Margie; and

WHEREAS, Richard Luka was the loving father of Thomas J. (Loretta), Barb (Timothy) Hayes, and Patti (Joe) Laken; the dear grandfather of Kristin, Lauren, Allison, Daniel, Sean, Mitchell, and John; and the loving owner of his canine companion, Dutchess; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Richard T. Luka; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Richard Luka as an expression of our sympathy.
