SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Dorothy Hunter, who passed away on April
4 2, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Dorothy Hunter was born on March 16, 1929; her
6 parents were Eunice Lacy and Wallace Dandridge; she also had
7 another father, Fred Gatlin, who later married her mother; she
8 married Marvin Jerome Hunter on October 9, 1945; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Dorothy Hunter completed elementary school and
10 high school in Memphis, Tennessee; she later moved to Chicago;
11 in 1953, she joined the Fellowship M.B. Church under the
12 leadership of Reverend Clay Evans; she then returned to
13 Memphis, where she stayed until she fell ill and returned to
14 Chicago, staying there until her passing; and
 
15     WHEREAS, Dorothy Hunter was preceded in death by her
16 parents; her husband; her children, Elaine (Hunter) Malcome and
17 Maurice Hunter; her grandson, Randall Malcome; and her
18 great-grandson, Andre (Mann) Greene; and
 
19     WHEREAS, Dorothy Hunter is survived by her sons, Earl
20 Jerome Dandridge, Marvin Jerome Hunter, and Greg Hunter; her
21 daughters, Anita (Hunter) Barber and Vickie Lynn Jones; her 16

1 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; and her many other
2 relatives and friends; therefore, be it
 
3     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
4 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
5 her family and friends, the passing of Dorothy Hunter; and be
6 it further
 
7     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to the family of Dorothy Hunter as an expression of
9 our sympathy.
