SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Frank A. Belmont Sr., of Gurnee, who passed away on February 16, 2009; and

WHEREAS, He was born on August 13, 1924 in Waukegan and married Mildred Norton in 1948 in Waukegan; and

WHEREAS, He retired in September 1986 as an engineer with Chicago-Northwestern Railroad after 40 years of employment; he was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers; he was an avid woodcarver, organist, golfer, furniture repair, and restoration artist; and

WHEREAS, He was a graduate of WTHS in 1942 and entered the AirCorps, serving in World War II; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Taylor; and his sister, Emily Kleeberg; and

WHEREAS, Frank Belmont Sr. is survived by his wife, Mildred; his sons, Frank (Rebecca) Belmont, Jr., Michael (Marilynn) Belmont, and John (Shannon) Belmont; his daughter, Marianne Johnson; his seven grandchildren; and his brother, Sam (Sharon) Belmont; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Frank Belmont Sr.; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Frank Belmont Sr., as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
