SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Roger D. Brown of Pontiac, who passed
4 away on March 14, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born on January 9, 1935 in Bloomington, the
6 son of Cecil and Helen (Moschel) Brown; he married Margery
7 Esmond on August 20, 1955 in Chenoa; and
 
8     WHEREAS, He was a 1953 graduate of Pontiac Township High
9 School and attended the University of Illinois; he was a medic
10 in the Army Reserve in 1957 and 1958; and he farmed for more
11 than 50 years; and
 
12     WHEREAS, He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church
13 in Pontiac, where he served as a deacon, elder, and member of
14 the choir; he was involved in the Vermillion Players and the
15 Bloomington Community Players; he was a member of the Pontiac
16 Elks Lodge and the former Pontiac Moose Lodge; and he was a
17 past board member of the Graymont Grade School, Rooks Creek
18 Township, and Rooks Creek Co-op; and
 
19     WHEREAS, He was a past Livingston County board member,
20 appointed in 1982 and serving until 2000; he served as County
21 Board chairman from December of 1994 until 1988; and

1     WHEREAS, He loved to attend his grandchildren's
2 activities; and
 
3     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; and
 
4     WHEREAS, Roger Brown is survived by his wife, Margery; his
5 son, Paul (Linda) Brown; his daughter, Angela (Tony) Padula;
6 and his grandchildren, Dana, Corey, and Seth Brown and Lauren
7 and Nicole Padula; therefore, be it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
9 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
10 his family and friends, the passing of Roger D. Brown; and be
11 it further
 
12     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13 presented to the family of Roger D. Brown as a symbol of our
14 sincere sympathy.
