SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Scott R. Triphahn of Hoffman Estates, who
4passed away on December 21, 2010; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Scott Triphahn was born March 24, 1957 in Chicago;
6and
 
7    WHEREAS, He was president and CEO of W-T Engineering,
8Incorporated; he was a commissioner of the Hoffman Estates Park
9District for 13 years; he was president of the Friends of HE
10Park Foundation; he was past chairman of the Illinois
11Association of Park Districts; and he was a board member of
12Barrington Bank & Trust, WINGS, and was also affiliated with
13many other organizations; and
 
14    WHEREAS, The Scott Triphahn Community Center and Ice Arena
15was dedicated in his honor on December 11, 2010; and
 
16    WHEREAS, He became the founding president of the Friends of
17HE Parks Foundation in 1999, providing opportunities for
18financially disadvantaged children to participate in park
19district programs; he also aided in the building of the
20Community Center named in his honor, and for bringing the
21Chicago Wolves to the facility, which serves as a practice

1site; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Scott Triphahn was the beloved husband of Susan
3(nee, McGovern); the loving father of Troy (Maren), Ryan, and
4Jaclyn Triphahn; the loving son of Barbara Triphahn-Abraham
5(Howard) and the late Donald Triphahn; the dear brother of
6Stephen (Michelle) and Jonathan (Jean) Triphahn; and the dear
7uncle of many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
10his friends, family, and community, the passing of Scott
11Triphahn; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Scott Triphahn as a symbol of our
14sincere sympathy.
