HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the Hinckley-Big Rock women's basketball team on winning the 2010 Class 1A IHSA State basketball championship; and

WHEREAS, The Lady Royals beat Jacksonville Routt by a score of 38-32, winning the IHSA State basketball championship at Illinois State's Redbird Arena; and

WHEREAS, The Lady Royals were led in scoring by Jenna Thorp, who had a game high 14 points; Tess Godhart was also a key contributor, scoring nine points while grabbing 15 rebounds; and

WHEREAS, The Hinckley-Big Rock victory at the IHSA State basketball championship gave the Lady Royals their second State basketball championship in as many years; and

WHEREAS, The Lady Royals finished the season with a near perfect record of 33-2; and over the last two championship seasons, they have had a record of 64-5; the seniors have amassed a four-year record of 119-12; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Hinckley-Big Rock women's basketball team are Jessica Leifeit, Jessica Meyer, Maxzine Rossler, Jenna Thorp, Alyssa Baunach, Tess Godhart, Kaitlin Phillips, and Katie Hollis; and

WHEREAS, The Lady Royals are coached by Greg Burks, Jerry Tokars, and Don Rasich, and managed by Mike Kula and Tyler Tosh; the Athletic Director at Hinckley-Big Rock is Bill Sambrookes; the principal is Jay Brickman; and the superintendent is Dr. Jim Hammack; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Hinckley-Big Rock women's basketball team serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the members of the Hinckley-Big Rock women's basketball team on winning the Class 1A IHSA State basketball championship and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Hinckley-Big Rock women's basketball team, along with their coaches, managers, athletic director, principal, and superintendent as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
