HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes Junior High School 7th grade basketball team for winning the Class 7-3A State Basketball Championship; and

WHEREAS, After a close game, the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes beat South Holland McKinley 35-33 to win the Class 7-3A State Basketball Championship at Fieldcrest Middle School in Wenona; the team finished the season with an impressive 26-2 record; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes are Michael Bradley, Riley Drees, Brock Mette, Mitch Meinhart, Tyler Gebben, Karson Pruemer, Louis Niemerg, Austin Hartke, Blake Kinkelaar, Richard Overbeck, Jonathon Deters, Justin Deters, Dylan Roewe, Nick Pals, Jordan Thoele, Chad Wallin, Lucas Probst, Nick Ruholl, Wade Jansen, Denver Phillips, and Ryan Sandshafer; the team's managers are Brandon Funneman and Jason Westendorf and the team's coach is Doug Smith; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the members of the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes Junior High School 7th grade basketball team on their victory and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Teutopolis Wooden Shoes coach Doug Smith as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
