HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the administration and staff of South Central Community Services, Inc., in Chicago on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the organization's fundraiser, "Puttin' On The Hits", on March 19, 2010; and

WHEREAS, South Central Community Services (SCCS) is a comprehensive social service agency that offers 22 programs from 11 facilities in Chicago and East St. Louis; the organization provides services to over 3,000 people each year; and

WHEREAS, For the past 25 years, SCCS has hosted the "Puttin' On The Hits" fundraiser, which features a lively reception and an outstanding mix of lip-sync artists that perform during an after-dinner concert; the fundraiser attracts an audience of more than 850 people, which includes many of Chicago's corporate, political, and community leaders; and

WHEREAS, The "Puttin' On The Hits" fundraiser ensures that SCCS will continue to address the many economic, educational, psychological, and social challenges that exist in high-need communities throughout the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the administration and staff of South Central Community Services, Inc., on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the organization's fundraiser, "Puttin' On The Hits" and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Felicia Y. Blasingame, President/CEO of SCCS, Inc., as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
