HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Craig Phillips of Aurora, who passed away on January 31, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Craig Phillips was born on January 29, 1922 in Evanston; he was the son of the late John Noble and Elizabeth (Gordon) Phillips; he married Estelle Richmond on May 7, 1955; and

WHEREAS, Craig Phillips was a graduate of Evanston Township High School; and

WHEREAS, Craig Phillips served his country with pride and distinction as a member of the United States Army Air Force from 1943 to 1946 in Manila, Philippines; and

WHEREAS, Craig Phillips retired from Barber-Greene Company in 1994 as a corporate personnel manager; and

WHEREAS, Craig Phillips and his wife dedicated their lives to Christ and taught Sunday school at Central Bible Church and Orchard Valley Baptist Church in Aurora; Mr. Phillips spent his retirement years volunteering at the Wayside Cross Rescue Mission in Aurora, where he taught the "Master's Touch" series 6 days a week; he was also an active member of The Gideon's International Organization; and

WHEREAS, Craig Phillips was preceded in death by his wife, Estelle; his brother, Gordon Phillips; and his sisters, Marjorie Lochridge and Nancy Chandler; and

WHEREAS, Craig Phillips is survived by his daughter, Diane (Tom) Kleinfeldt; his grandchildren, Kimberly (Kleinfeldt) Durbin and Rev. Thomas M. (Kathy) Kleinfeldt; his great-grandchildren, Spc. Bethany (Spc. Jason) LaRossa, Spc. David (Christine) Durbin, Bryan Kleinfeldt, Jonathan (Anne) Kleinfeldt, and Jordan Ferrell; his great-great-grandchildren, Sydney and Jayson Long, Leila Kleinfeldt, Dominic and Adrianna LaRossa, Daniel Durbin, and Madison Fore; his brother, John Noble (Mary) Phillips; and his many nieces and nephews, including his special niece, Ellen Frohnmeyer, and his special nephew, Craig Phillips; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Craig Phillips; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Craig Phillips as an expression of our sympathy.
