HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Ray Soucek has faithfully served Haymarket Center for 21 years as President/CEO and as a visionary leader, mentor, and passionate advocate for the needs of clients and families who suffer from addiction disorders; and

WHEREAS, Ray has a distinguished career of service and selfless dedication to clients and staff, daily sharing gifts of compassion, leadership, and humility as he directs the professional services and programs on behalf of those who seek recovery; and

WHEREAS, Ray is an exemplary role model for professional conduct, executive competence, and service to the addictions healthcare field; and

WHEREAS, Ray is greatly admired for his dedication and service to the addiction treatment system in Illinois and to the recovering community as demonstrated by expanding Haymarket Center service offerings to over 30 programs including a Maternal Addictions Center, Medical Detox, Rapid Stabilization Program plus an employment program, the Family Enrichment Center; and

WHEREAS, Ray has made an indelible professional and personal impact on all who know him as well as thousands of addictions professionals in Illinois and thru the Mid-West Region by being a champion for the advancement of the "science addictions healthcare best practices" thru the establishment of the annual Summer Institute on Addictions offered by Haymarket Center for the last 15 years; and

WHEREAS, Ray has made profound and lasting contributions to the Illinois Alcoholism & Drug Dependence Association by allowing members of his executive team to play key advocacy roles in public policy and funding endeavors; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Ray Soucek for his 21 years of service to the Haymarket Center; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Ray Soucek as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
