HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of United States Army Sergeant Albert Ware of Chicago, who was killed in action in Afghanistan on December 18, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Sgt. Albert Ware was born in Monrovia, Liberia; he immigrated to the United States at the age of 12 and moved to Chicago; he graduated from Corliss High School in 2002; and

WHEREAS, In 2003, Sgt. Albert Ware made the decision to serve his adopted country; he spent 2 1/2 years in the National Guard before joining the Army; he was assigned to the 782nd Combat Support Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team of the 82nd Airborne Division out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina and hoped to eventually become a member of the U.S. Army Rangers; he was serving in his second tour in Afghanistan when he was tragically killed; and

WHEREAS, Sgt. Albert Ware is survived by his wife, Plichette; his children, T'John, Heaven, and Musu; his birth mother, Massa Kamu of Monrovia, Liberia; his mother, Anna; his father, Thomas; and his sister, Ciatta; and

WHEREAS, Sgt. Albert Ware's patriotism and courage will be remembered fondly by his loving family, his fellow soldiers, and the citizens of our grateful nation; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of United States Army Sergeant Albert Ware; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Sgt. Albert Ware as an expression of our sympathy.
