HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate Thomas Joseph
4 Rossley of Boy Scout Troop 1 on the occasion of attaining the
5 coveted rank of Eagle Scout; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Thomas is a founding member of Troop 1 of the
7 Chicago Area Council and the second scout to make the rank of
8 Eagle in his troop; and
 
9     WHEREAS, To achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, Thomas Rossley
10 undertook the transition of the Day School from a school to a
11 non-profit facility; he and 18 fellow scouts cleaned and
12 organized the 13,000 square foot mansion and coach house;
13 today, the building is leased to Smart Love Parenting and China
14 Kids; and
 
15     WHEREAS, More organizations will be added to the
16 refurbished mansion to provide vocational, educational, and
17 therapeutic services to Chicago residents in need; as part of
18 the transition, 28 boxes of books were donated to Bookworm
19 Angels, who in turn provided the books to Chicago Public School
20 children; and
 
21     WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout will be bestowed upon

1 Thomas Rossley by the Boy Scouts of America at a Court of Honor
2 ceremony on November 22, 2009; and
 
3     WHEREAS, Thomas Rossley serves as a model of hard work,
4 integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of
5 Illinois; therefore, be it
 
6     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
7 NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
8 congratulate Thomas Rossley of Boy Scout Troop 1 on the
9 occasion of attaining the coveted rank of Eagle Scout and wish
10 him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it
11 further
 
12     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13 presented to Thomas Rossley as a symbol of our esteem and
14 respect.
