HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Fire Chief Leigh Fabbri, of the Addison Fire Protection District, on his retirement; and

WHEREAS, He began his career in fire service as a volunteer with the Schiller Park Emergency Squad in 1971; he later worked as a volunteer firefighter with the Bensenville Fire Department and later the Itasca Fire Department; and

WHEREAS, In 1977 he worked full-time in the Bolingbrook Fire Department and in 1979 began his career in the Addison Fire Protection District as a firefighter and paramedic; and

WHEREAS, As a firefighter in the Addison Fire Protection District he has attained Fire Officer III, Firefighter III, and Fire Prevention Inspection II certificates through the Office of the State Fire Marshal Certification program; he has risen through the ranks of lieutenant, captain, deputy chief, and now chief; he performs in a capacity of inspector, plans examiner, and coordinator of fire prevention for the District; and

WHEREAS, He served the District during the completion of several projects, including the construction of station one, the relocation of station three, and the adoption of revised fire codes through two cycles; as Chief he implemented an improved annual physical examination and physical fitness program; and

WHEREAS, Chief Fabbri recently represented the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association as the representative of Area 6 and the Chairman of the Codes and Standards Committee; he has proposed legislation on behalf of the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association and worked on their behalf on legislative issues; and

WHEREAS, Chief Fabbri will be enjoying his retirement along with his wife, Cindy; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Chief Leigh Fabbri on his retirement and wish him continued success in all his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Chief Leigh Fabbri as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
