HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate Fire Chief Leigh
4 Fabbri, of the Addison Fire Protection District, on his
5 retirement; and
 
6     WHEREAS, He began his career in fire service as a volunteer
7 with the Schiller Park Emergency Squad in 1971; he later worked
8 as a volunteer firefighter with the Bensenville Fire Department
9 and later the Itasca Fire Department; and
 
10     WHEREAS, In 1977 he worked full-time in the Bolingbrook
11 Fire Department and in 1979 began his career in the Addison
12 Fire Protection District as a firefighter and paramedic; and
 
13     WHEREAS, As a firefighter in the Addison Fire Protection
14 District he has attained Fire Officer III, Firefighter III, and
15 Fire Prevention Inspection II certificates through the Office
16 of the State Fire Marshal Certification program; he has risen
17 through the ranks of lieutenant, captain, deputy chief, and now
18 chief; he performs in a capacity of inspector, plans examiner,
19 and coordinator of fire prevention for the District; and
 
20     WHEREAS, He served the District during the completion of
21 several projects, including the construction of station one,

1 the relocation of station three, and the adoption of revised
2 fire codes through two cycles; as Chief he implemented an
3 improved annual physical examination and physical fitness
4 program; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Chief Fabbri recently represented the Illinois
6 Fire Chiefs Association as the representative of Area 6 and the
7 Chairman of the Codes and Standards Committee; he has proposed
8 legislation on behalf of the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association
9 and worked on their behalf on legislative issues; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Chief Fabbri will be enjoying his retirement along
11 with his wife, Cindy; therefore, be it
 
12     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
13 NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
14 congratulate Chief Leigh Fabbri on his retirement and wish him
15 continued success in all his future endeavors; and be it
16 further
 
17     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18 presented to Chief Leigh Fabbri as a symbol of our respect and
19 esteem.
