HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Scott Lennon on the occasion of winning the Charles E. Piper Award from the Berwyn Development Corporation on November 7, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Originally from Harvey, Scott Lennon has lived in the Chicagoland area his entire life, spending time in Flossmoor, Chicago, Barrington, Island Lake, and Portage, Indiana before settling in the South Berwyn Depot District in 2002; and

WHEREAS, Scott Lennon has served as an Area Operations Manager at Pitney Bowes Legal Solutions for the past 9 years; during his tenure, the company has benefited greatly from his acute managerial skills and creative business strategies, which have propelled him to his current position; in 2004, Mr. Lennon was awarded the national level "ALL STARS" award in recognition of his excellence in business performance, budget management, client relations, and employee satisfaction scores; and

WHEREAS, Prior to his tenure at Pitney Bowes, Scott Lennon was employed at Kemper Securities Inc. from 1983 until 2000; his hard work and dedication at Kemper Securities enabled him to reach the position of Vice President of Operations and win Kemper's "Consistency of Excellence Award", the company's top achievement; and

WHEREAS, Scott Lennon has been a volunteer in numerous community organizations; he has been active in the Berwyn Development Corporation's Historic Depot District Special Events Committee, Marketing Committee, New Business Task Force, City of Berwyn "Why Berwyn?" Integrated Marketing Campaign, and Outreach Program Booths; he is also a board member of Bungalo and a member of the Democratic Citizens of Berwyn; and

WHEREAS, Scott Lennon enjoys traveling, spending time with his family and friends, meeting new people, and spending time in the eclectic and diverse nature of the City of Berwyn and its residents; and

WHEREAS, Scott Lennon will receive his award during the Charles E. Piper Award dinner, which will be held on November 7, 2009 at the Skylite West Banquets in Berwyn; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Scott Lennon on the occasion of winning the Charles E. Piper Award and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Scott Lennon as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
