HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Rosalind Dirks on her retirement from the Illinois Department of Human Services; and

WHEREAS, Rosalind was born to Mary Elizabeth and George Daniel Huffman in the small town of Harlingen, Texas, which is just outside of Brownsville; she is the oldest of four daughters and, to all who know her, has shouldered the responsibility of being the big sister with resiliency and resolve; she married Harold Dirks on July 26, 1963 and they are parents of three children, Bob, Lynn and Lisa; in addition, they have six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; and

WHEREAS, Rosalind began her career in public service on June 21, 1972 when she accepted a position at the Illinois State Employees Retirement System; 28 years later she accepted a position with the Illinois Department of Human Service, Bureau of Title XX Social Services; and

WHEREAS, Anyone who knows Rosalind knows that she will continue to be dedicated to her family, friends, church, and her community after her retirement; and

WHEREAS, In addition to gardening, reading, and other hobbies, one of Rosalind's first trips after retirement will be a vacation in Canada with her son and his family; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Rosalind Dirks and wish her all the best in her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Rosalind Dirks as a symbol of our respect.
