HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Andrew Middendorf of Lindenhurst on the occasion of attaining the coveted rank of Eagle Scout on February 25, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Andrew Middendorf began his scouting career as a member of Cub Scout Pack 675, attaining the rank of Bobcat on September 23, 1999; he steadily climbed the ranks of the Cub Scouts, reaching the rank of Webelos II on January 2, 2002; he then became a member of Boy Scout Troop 675, becoming a Scout on March 20, 2003; once again showing great initiative, he rose through the Boy Scout ranks until he reached the pinnacle of achievement within the organization, the rank of Eagle Scout; in total, he has earned 34 Merit Badges; and

WHEREAS, Andrew Middendorf has served in many positions of responsibility within the Boy Scouts; he has served as Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Troop Librarian, Troop Scribe, Troop Quartermaster, Troop Instructor, Troop Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Troop Senior Patrol Leader, Troop Junior Assistant Scoutmaster, Troop Order of the Arrow Representative, and District Camporee Senior Patrol Leader; and

WHEREAS, Andrew Middendorf is a student at Lakes Community High School; he is a member of the school's Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, Drama Club, and German Club; he is also an honors student and is a member of the International Thespian Society; and

WHEREAS, Andrew Middendorf's family, friends, and fellow Scouts, along with the members of this body, are proud of his hard work and dedication in gaining this prestigious rank; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Andrew Middendorf on the occasion of attaining the coveted rank of Eagle Scout and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Andrew Middendorf as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
