HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Jim Shook on his retirement from the Round Lake Area Park District Board; and

WHEREAS, Jim Shook began his time on the Round Lake Area Park District Board on January 14, 1988; and

WHEREAS, He served on numerous State-level boards and committees for the Illinois Association of Park Districts and was awarded the Commissioner of the Year award from the Illinois Association of Park Districts in 2003; and

WHEREAS, During his time on the Park District Board many projects were completed, including: the Nature Center, the Aquatic Center, the Fitness Center, two Skate Parks, the Site II Child Development Center, the Teen Center, the golf course clubhouse, the Sports Center, an expansion of the Community Center, and a warming house and concession stand were completed; and

WHEREAS, Jim Shook is active in his church, helping in local causes and traveling to the Southern United States to help with hurricane relief; he has served as a youth and school district sports coach in basketball, track, and baseball; and

WHEREAS, Jim Shook is a retired school teacher from Round Lake Area School District 116; he has three children and six grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Jim Shook and wish him all the best in his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Jim Shook as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
