HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Wilhelm Herb Tauscher of Christopher, who passed away on November 19, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Wilhelm Tauscher was born on February 24, 1939, in Mount Vernon; his parents were Herbert W. Tauscher and Letitia (Sylvia) Tauscher; he married Babe Patsy (Dixson) Tauscher; and

WHEREAS, Wilhelm Tauscher served his country with pride and distinction as a member of the United States Coast Guard for 22 years; and

WHEREAS, Wilhelm Tauscher was employed as a coal miner at Kerr Magee for 15 years; and

WHEREAS, Wilhelm Tauscher was a former Fall Festival Grand Marshal; he was a past president of the Christopher Lions Club; he was a past commander of the Christopher American Legion; he was a devoted member and supporter of the Democratic Party; he was also the inspiration for the bocce ball court in Christopher; and

WHEREAS, Wilhelm Tauscher was preceded in death by his parents and his sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Bob Fortman; and

WHEREAS, Wilhelm Tauscher is survived by his children, Donita and Scott Coffel, John Peer, and Melissa Gayle Hartsell; his grandchildren, Jessica and Randy Peterman, Amanda Leah Yates, Alyson and Corey Leeper, John Peer II, Erica and Hunter Moore, Kelsey Peer, and Kristin Peer; his great-grandchildren, Morgan, Nolan, Bryce, Abigail, Evelyn, Ashton, and Isabella; his cousin, Beverly Rolla; his brother and his sisters-in-law; his nieces and nephews; his dear friends, Ivan Davis and Kenny Berryman; and his loving companion, Shorty the dog; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Wilhelm Herb Tauscher; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Wilhelm Tauscher as an expression of our sympathy.
