HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, November is recognized as National Adoption Awareness Month; and

WHEREAS, Illinois' children are its future, and every child in Illinois deserves a safe home, loving parents, and a caring community; and

WHEREAS, There are many children whose birth families are unable to parent and give their children the care and love they deserve; and

WHEREAS, Adoption gives children and their adoptive parents a loving family environment, helping both find the nurturing family they deserve; and

WHEREAS, Adoptive parents make a powerful difference in the lives of their children by giving them a stable home and the love, attention, and guidance they need to prepare them for adulthood; and

WHEREAS, Birth parents, who make the difficult decision to place their children for adoption and deserve community support and respect; and

WHEREAS, Every successful adoption builds and strengthens Illinois' families, making our State a better place for all Illinoisans; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that Illinois recognizes that National Adoption Awareness Month highlights the importance of adoption, draws attention to the thousands of Illinois children awaiting a stable and loving home, and fosters public awareness of adoption and foster care.
