HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the staff, faculty, students, and alumni of Reavis High School as they celebrate their 60th anniversary of educational excellence; and

WHEREAS, An Open House Celebration will be held on October 3, 2010; presentations, tours, booths, and other activities are planned to celebrate this special occasion; and

WHEREAS, Many teachers from the past, as well as coaches, sponsors, and students are expected to attend this event; and

WHEREAS, A Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony will be held at noon and will feature a documentary about Reavis High School, produced by the Reavis High School Communications Club, with narration by the first Mayor of Burbank, John W. Fitzgerald; and

WHEREAS, The festivities will move to the Main Gym for the cutting of cake and the singing of "Happy Birthday, Reavis", led by the band, cheerleaders, and Ricky the Ram; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate everyone that will be celebrating this special day in the history of Reavis High School and look forward to celebrating many more historic days with the school; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Daniel Riordan, Superintendent and Principal of Reavis High School.
