HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Master Sergeant
4Lindley H. Parker, of the Illinois State Police, on his
5retirement; and
 
6    WHEREAS, He began his career as a Trooper in District 12 on
7June 7, 1985; after distinguishing himself in the patrol
8function and serving as an Academy supervisor, he was
9temporarily assigned to the Southeast Illinois Drug Task Force
10on September 1, 1989, conducting drug investigations and
11serving as a surveillance agent; and
 
12    WHEREAS, He returned to District 12 and served as a Canine
13Officer and as a canine handler on the District Drug
14Interdiction Team; on August 16, 1990, he transferred to
15District 11 and was assigned to patrol and investigative
16functions, including assignments to the District Public
17Integrity Unit and the Drug Conspiracy Unit in Zone 6; and
 
18    WHEREAS, On September 1, 2003, he began serving as
19President of Trooper's Lodge #41, where he oversaw the
20day-to-day operations of a 3,000 member organization and was
21responsible for administering the collective bargaining
22agreement for a 1,700 member bargaining unit; and

1    WHEREAS, On October 16, 2009, he was assigned the role of
2Deputy Chief of the Governmental Affairs Office; and
 
3    WHEREAS, On September 25, 1998, he was promoted to the rank
4of Sergeant; and on October 16, 2009, he was promoted to the
5rank of Master Sergeant; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
7NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
8congratulate Master Sergeant Lindley Parker on his retirement
9and wish him continued success in the future; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to Master Sergeant Lindley Parker as a symbol of our
12respect and esteem.
