HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of United
4States Marine Corps Corporal Christopher J. Boyd, formerly of
5Palatine, who was killed in the line of duty on August 19,
62010, while serving in Helmand Province, Afghanistan; and
 
7    WHEREAS, He was a member of the 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine
8Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force,
9out of Camp Pendleton, California; and
 
10    WHEREAS, He was a 2006 graduate of Palatine High School in
11Palatine, where he played football and lacrosse and wrestled
12for the high school wrestling team; and
 
13    WHEREAS, He received a Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon,
14Humanitarian Service Medal, the National Defense Service
15Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal during
16his time of service; and
 
17    WHEREAS, United States Marine Corps Corporal Christopher
18J. Boyd is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Patricia Boyd;
19his wife, Danielle; and their twin sons, Jack and Evan;
20therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
2NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
3mourn, along with his family, friends, and a grateful nation,
4the passing of United States Marine Corps Corporal Christopher
5J. Boyd; and be it further
 
6    RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of United States Marine
7Corps Corporal Christopher J. Boyd and his willingness to serve
8his country, which led to him making the ultimate sacrifice;
9and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of United States Marine Corporal
12Christopher J. Boyd as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
