1 HOUSE RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate Sally O'Connell on
4 the occasion of her retirement after 13 years of dedicated
5 service as a kindergarten teacher at Saint Cajetan School in
6 Chicago; and

7     WHEREAS, Sally O'Connell has practiced a high degree of
8 professionalism in identifying and responding to the needs of
9 her students and applied successful teaching practices in a
10 caring manner, including the use of exercises that actively
11 involve her students in the learning process; she also
12 effectively gave the students in her care the personal and
13 positive reinforcement that they needed and took the time to
14 listen to and get to know each child and their parents on a
15 personal level; and

16     WHEREAS, Sally O'Connell is well known among her peers for
17 her generosity towards co-workers, students, and parents and
18 her ability to work well with her fellow educators; she is also
19 well known for her great sense of humor, her great
20 storytelling, and her selfless, happy nature; and

21     WHEREAS, Sally O'Connell serves as a model of hard work,
22 integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of

1 Illinois; therefore, be it

2     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
3 NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
4 congratulate Sally O'Connell on the occasion of her retirement
5 and wish her many happy and healthy retirement years; and be it
6 further

7     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to Sally O'Connell as a symbol of our esteem and
9 respect.
