HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate Dr. Jay Sabatino,
4 Superintendent of Community High School District 117 in
5 Antioch, on his retirement; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Dr. Sabatino is responsible for many ideas coming
7 to fruition in the district, including the purchase of land for
8 a potential third high school campus, and without the need for
9 a tax referendum; and
 
10     WHEREAS, He was asked to and expanded the substance abuse
11 prevention/monitoring program within the district; the
12 district began a hair testing program in extracurricular
13 activities that brought the district Statewide notoriety and
14 recognition; and
 
15     WHEREAS, He initiated a formal mentoring program for
16 teachers in the district; he established a staff evaluation
17 program, based on a Professional Growth Plan; and he was
18 charged with moving the district to a higher level of student
19 accomplishments; he not only achieved this goal, he also
20 prepared a plan for the district's future; and
 
21     WHEREAS, He was charged with making sure that District 117

1 had the best credentialed and talented individuals educating
2 the children, and he did that as well; and
 
3     WHEREAS, Dr. Sabatino also made sure that the district
4 budget was fiscally responsible and balanced in these hard
5 economic times; therefore, be it
 
6     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
7 NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
8 congratulate Dr. Sabatino on his retirement, thank him for his
9 service, and wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and
10 be it further
 
11     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12 presented to Dr. Jay Sabatino as a symbol of our respect and
13 esteem.
